Psoriasis on the scalp?

What can I do about plaques of psoriasis on my scalp. It covers from the top of one ear to the other and down to the base of my skull. It’s not visible because of my hair (thank goodness) until it starts flaking on my shirt. It itches like crazy tho and dermatologist says aside from steroid treatment for the itching just suck it up. I’ve tried all the otc shampoos for dandruff/sebborheic dermatitis but they don’t help. Anyone else have this or any solution to get rid of the embarrassing flakes?

It’s an auto-immune condition that is hell to deal with. It’s in my family, and hardly anything helped. In dry weather it’s worse. Topical Cortisone does not work either. All you could do is to rub lotion every day on the scalp to give it some moisture. It will reduce the flaking. Dermatologists recommed Enbrel, which is injected into the arm on a weekly basis. UV rays are supposed to help but it’s difficult to address the scalp with that. It helps for psoriasis on other body parts. Enbrel (or Eternacept) is supposed to clear Psoriasis, or help at least. It has side effects that you may want to check out. There’s a website, Bee-clear.com which offers a cream made from a combination of natural Bee, Propolis and Neem oil/Olive Oil. If you like dark clothes that show flakes, put a pretty light, multi colored scarf around your shoulders that won’t show the flakes. Pretend to be Parisian.
